Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarksville is part of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, the nation’s oldest and largest youth mentoring organization. Since 1904, adult volunteers have helped millions of children reach their full potential. Over 500 agencies in all 50 states match children with mentors who provide friendship, fun and learning.

BBBSC was established in 1975 through a local interest group originating from Harriet Cohn Mental Health Center and Grace Lutheran Church. Today a volunteer board of directors oversees the agency.

Staff

Amy Carroll, Executive Director

Amy started with Big Brothers Big Sisters in September 2003 as a case manager and was promoted to Executive Director in December 2003. Amy is a native of Clarksville, born and raised in the Woodlawn Community. She is a graduate of Northwest High School and completed her bachelor’s degree at APSU in December 1994. She and her husband, Roger, have a 15 year-old daughter named Emily. She is currently a member of Clarksville Rotary Club and 2010 Graduate of Leadership Clarksville

Elitha Johnson, Case Manager

Elitha started working at Big Brothers Big Sisters in September 2008. She currently handles all the Amachi cases and some school-based cases. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Social Work at Austin Peay State University. During her under grad years, she served as a member and President of NAACP Collegiate Chapter and was a member of the Social Work Club. She was born in New Orleans, LA but has been a resident of Clarksville since 2003. Prior to her tenure at Big Brothers Big Sisters, she worked at a youth mental health facility. Elitha enjoys working with children and their families.

Gordon Clutts, Case Manager

Gordon began working at Big Brothers Big Sisters in 2008 and handles community based cases. He graduated from Austin Peay State University with his Bachelor’s in Social Work in 1999. He is a native of Maine but has lived all over the country while serving in the Marines and Army. He retired after serving 23 years and he has worked for Department of Children’s Services and volunteered with Crisis Call 211, the District Attorney’s office, and he currently serves as a Lector Coordinator with Sacred Heart Catholic Community, Fort Campbell, KY.
